UK wedding photographers directory and wedding photography website, Our Wedding Memories, the longest established, dedicated online UK wedding photographers directory, has launched its new website. With features such as Get a Quote and Late Availability as well as county search and listings, locating a wedding photographer to suit your requirements is very simple and meets any wedding photography need across the UK.
The new site, listing more than 3,000 registered photographers for all budgets and photography styles, was launched in mid-May 2010 with a whole new look and extra features, including Get a Quote and Late Availability. Visitors are able to enter search criteria and automatically contact up to 10 wedding photographers covering their local area. Also, with the Late Availability search, a visitor can find photographers available on a required date within the following two- to three-month period.

New profile pages
On 18/3/2010 we have launched new photographer profile pages and re-styled the search results pages.
The new profiles are now available to both paid and free listings so please ensure your profiles are up to date.
New profiles now include up to 6 larger images, events calendar from which visitors can contact you directly, new enquiry form which is directed at the actual photographer but with the p[topn for visitors to contact more once the initial enquiry has been made.
Extra text can be added and as these pages will eventually be indexed by Google and other search engines, this text should be descriptive. These pages can generate direct traffic so please add good quality text to tempt visitors in to making an enquiry.
We have also added share buttons for facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. You can go to your own profile page and share the page with contacts in these social networking sites. We also recommend you ask your contacts on these sites to share the page.
You should also contact past clients who may wish to recommend your services. If so, ask them to visit the page and share it with their social network of friends and contacts. This is a great way to amrket your services virally and generate extra business by what is essentially word of mouth.

Our Wedding Memories - The History
www.ourweddingmemories.co.uk was launched on 6 June 2001 by Dacan Internet Services to assist in the promotion ofwedding photographers websites designed by Dacan and wedding albums the Bridal couple, Our Wedding Memories gradually developed into a nationwide directory for all wedding photography providers.
From basic beginnings which can be viewed at http://web.archive.org/web/20001018150718/http://www.ourweddingmemories.co.uk/
From our records we believe that the first listing on the site was added by Chris Painter Photography in June 2001, with the first paid link going live in December 2001 for Mike Shinners based in Essex.
The enhanced listings option was added in early 2002 with the first paid enhanced going live in February 02 by Mark Anderson
At this stage all listings were added manually.
A new design was launched in November 2001 and can be viewed at http://web.archive.org/web/20011129090727/http://www.ourweddingmemories.co.uk/. The site still had the same basic functionality and listing options. It continued like this, with listings and overall site traffic increasing year on year until March 2005 when the only alteration was to split the paid and free listings into 2 seperate pages due to the numbe rof listing requests we were receiving. As this created extra content pages it also saw a larger than usual increase in traffic to the website.
The look of the site remained the same until September 2006 when a complete redevelopment of the site took place and remains the same to this date. The main changes were the look of the site, the ability for photographers to create an account so that all listings were automated, including the payment and renewal process and enhanced listings displaying on a rotational basis. This allowed all photographers with an enhanced listings to have equal time in the top positions.
Further small alterations have been made to the site including the addition of banner adverts on the home page, most of which were snapped up within a matter of days of the launch.
Since its inception www.ourweddingmemories.co.uk has seen consistent year on year increases in traffic and continues to go from strength to strength. to date we have never seen a drop in traffic from the corresponding month of a previous year!
